After a series of requests made by Uiltrasporti to the company management of Mct, concerning the business plan, investments and in general the future of the airport, we still have not received any answer. With the decision of the Labor judge of Palmi who reinstated the formerly dismissed workers, the terminalista company ended in hedgehog - writes Uil - persevering in its incorrect behavior, disrespectful of the union representation and, above all, absolutely not preparatory to the revival of the port airport. At this point, therefore, as Uiltrasporti we were forced to proclaim a day of strike in the light of the fact that the company, in the meeting held last January 21 at the Port Authority, has repeatedly stated that it is not able to to be able to guarantee the current monthly payments to the entire workforce. We hope then - continues the statement - that the internal dispute between MSC and Mct ends in the shortest possible time, in the hope that in the future of the port of Gioia Tauro there can be a single operator to end this disastrous situation that the territory and workers are forced to suffer. Finally, we hope - in the next few days - the company adopts an attitude of greater common sense to manage both the issue of reintegration of workers and the delicate phase of the port, because it is incomprehensible that the company does not realize that every behavior in the field has a negative impact on the territory and on the employment component, ending up providing the trigger to a struggle between the poor.”
