Megayachts: Amico shipyard presents the new shiplift

Genoa - The shiplift is a submersible platform that allows the maxi yacht to be lifted from the water and moved to the ground in the yard with a system of trolleys on rails and completed by 5 workstations.

Genoa - Built in a record time of 16 months, it allows the shipyard to work simultaneously on 6 megayachts. The new shiplift of the Amico & Co shipyard - one of the top three in the world in the mega yacht repair and refit sector - allows hauling, launching and ground handling of boats up to 95 meters.
The shiplift is a submersible platform that allows the maxi yacht to be lifted from the water and moved to the ground in the yard with a system of trolleys on rails and completed by 5 workstations. “It is the largest and most powerful in Italy and one of the few in the Mediterranean,” explains Alberto Amico, president of Amico & Co. The construction cost more than 27 million euros. “We want to continue to be the leader on the Mediterranean megayacht market,” says Amico. We have the great opportunity to make Genoa the global hub of reference for large yachts”. The construction of the shiplift involved 84 companies, all Italian except one, for a total of 200 employees. The yard, which has about 100 direct employees, has employed 18 people in the last two years.
