Ancona - The launch ceremony of “Seven Seas Splendor”, the second extra-luxury cruise ship that Fincantieri will realize for the shipowning company Regent Seven Seas Cruises, brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH) group, took place at the Ancona plant. The delivery is scheduled for 2020. As the twin “Seven Seas Explorer”, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) plant in 2016, “Seven Seas Splendor” will have 55,000 gross tons and will accommodate 750 passengers on board. Last January Fincantieri received the order from NCLH for a third unit of the series, with delivery expected in 2023. The ships will be built adopting the most advanced technologies in terms of environmental protection. The set-up will be particularly sought after and a lot of attention will be paid to passenger comfort.
Fincantieri has built 88 cruise ships since 1990 (of which 65 since 2002), while another 55 are under construction or soon to be built, ensuring continuity of work for all the group’s construction sites for the next few years.
