Daewoo Shipbuilding wins US$273 mln ship order

Seoul - The deal raised to 10 the number of very large crude carriers that Hunter Tankers has ordered from Daewoo Shipbuilding this year.

Seoul - Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., the world’s second-largest shipbuilder by orders, said Monday it has clinched a US$273 million deal to build three oil carriers for Norwegian Hunter Tankers SA. Daewoo Shipbuilding said it is set to deliver the very large crude carriers, which can hold 300,000 tons of oil each, to Hunter Tankers by Oct. 31, 2020. The deal raised to 10 the number of very large crude carriers that Hunter Tankers has ordered from Daewoo Shipbuilding this year.
