Rome - The council of Confitarma (the Italian Confederation of Shipowners) met, the first one chaired by Mario Mattioli after his election as its head. During the meeting, the main issues of the sector were examined at the national and international level, with particular attention on the Stability Law which is currently under discussion in Parliament. The council then proceeded to elect the members of the Executive Committee, which pursuant to art. 23 of the Statute is chaired by the President of Confitarma and composed of the last president, the president of the young shipowners’ group, the presidents of the permanent expert committees, and other members appointed by the council. The committee chairpersons, appointed by the board on the proposal of the president, and other members of the executive committee are Mario Mattioli (chairman of the interim Ports and Infrastructures Committee), Federica Barbaro, Paolo Cagnoni, Carlo Cameli (Chairman of the Oceanic Navigation Committee), Angelo D’ Amato (chairman of the Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Education Committees), Giovanni Dellepiane, Giacomo Gavarone (Chairman of the Young Shipowners’ Group), Alessandra Grimaldi, Emanuele Grimaldi (past president), Guido Grimaldi (Chairman Navigation of Short Sea Shipping), Domenico Ievoli, Beniamino Maltese (Chairman of the Finance and Corporate Law Committee), Lorenzo Matacena (Chairman of the Maritime Safety and Environment Committee) and Alcide Ezio Rosina. The treasurer will be appointed by the Board of Directors at the meeting scheduled for December 6. On the same day, the Board will appoint the members of the committees proposed by their respective chairmen.
