Hamburg - The 7,510 TEUs “Yantian Express” will leave Freeport Harbour, in the Bahamas, on Wednesday May 15th, with an estimated time of arrival to Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 19th, Sunday.
The day of departure still has to be confirmed and will depend on arrival of spare parts and conclusion of repairs. Hapag-Lloyd’s, the German vessel’s liner, writes in a release that reloading of all containers previously discharged ashore for inspection has now been completed.
The “Yantian”, which is 320 meters long and sails under German flag in the East Coast Loop 5 service, was built in 2002 and was on its way from Colombo to Halifax via the Suez Canal when, on January the 3rd, fire broke out in one container on its deck.
In Freeport, the vessel has been recovered and re-assessed, and it is now ready to proceed to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for delivery of remaining onboard cargoes.
