Tokyo - Japan’s shipping and transportation company K Line has named Eizo Murakami as its new chairman of the board. Yukikazu Myochin steps up as president and takes over as chief executive, while current chairman Jiro Asakura switches to director.

All three appointments take effect from the start of April as 2019 marks the carrier’s centenary.

“While having its 100th anniversary in April 2019, K Line has developed its business foundation for the future under the current management to rebuild a stable earnings structure, including the establishment of the integrated containership company,” says a statement from the company.
