Genoa - Costa Crociere has opened its registration process for eight new training courses, with a total of 147 places available, aimed at hiring personnel on board its ships. Costa Crociere has promised to hire between 60% and 70% of the participants who have successfully completed each course.
At the end of previous courses, the percentage of hires by the Italian company reached almost 100%. All training courses are entirely free of charge, as they are financed by the European Social Fund or other social funds. The first five courses, organized by Costa Crociere together with the Fondazione Accademia Italiana Marina Mercantile and in collaboration with the Region of Liguria, will be held at the Accademia Ospitalità Italiana Crociere, at the Villa Figoli Des Geneys in Arenzano (Genoa). In particular, there is currently open registration for Children and Teen Animator (deadline 10 September), Entertainment Technician (deadline 24 September), On-board Pastry Chef (deadline 1 October), On-board Cook (deadline 22 October), with 20 places available for each.
These courses offer between 364 and 520 hours of lessons, both theoretical and practical, to be held on ships, depending on the course chosen. A fifth announcement concerns selections for an ITS hospitality course for reception staff and information services for on-board guests (deadline October 15), for which there are 22 places to be made available for a total of 2,120 hours, of which 920 will be theoretical-practical lessons and 1,200 will be traineeships.
