London - British shipping firm Clarkson said it has seen a recovery in its core markets that will support growth this year following solid 2017 earnings. Revenues at Clarkson rose 5.8% to 324 million punds, 366 million euros in 2017. Clarksons said the shipping market has displayed “some early signs of a recovery” this year following a sustained period of challenging trading conditions for the industry.

Chairman James Hughes-Hallett said: “Improvements across a number of divisions over the past year have been particularly pleasing, notably in the dry cargo freight market and container sector, as well as the strong performance in investment banking and project finance.”
