Genova - The British investment fund Chenavari now holds less than 5% of Carige, reducing the size of the stake that it wound up with after the bank’s capital increase. According to CONSOB’s press release on significant equity investments, the Luxembourg vehicle Areo II, which is owned by Chenevari, held 6.77% of Carige’s share capital as a result of its subscription to the increase, and then reduced it to 4.94% with a transaction dated 4 January.

Chenavari, which acquired the consumer credit company Creditis as part of Carige’s plan to strengthen its assets, had guaranteed part of the increase of up to €40 million, since the fund was one of the shareholders that had signed the first allocation commitments with Equita Sim.
