Oslo - Norway’s Dnb, one of the world’s foremost shipping banks, has appointed Kjerstin Braathen as the new CEO.
Braathen comes from the position of CFO of DNB, and was previously executive vice president for the corporate market. For 13 years she worked in the bank’s department for shipping and offshore, and she has also been chairman of several of DNB’s wholly owned companies. She comes from Lillestrøm, is married and has three children.
Her predecessor, Rune Bjerke, has been CEO of DNB since January 1, 2007. From 2008 to date, DNB has had the best value development among the 30 largest European banks. DNB has gone from being the 5th largest bank in Scandinavia to being the largest in terms of market value.
