Iveco’s exports to South Korea on the rise

Seoul - Iveco’s first quarter sales soared 65.2 percent on-year in South Korea, the largest among foreign automakers, while Mercedes-Benz suffered a 37.1 percent on-year slide.

As a whole, the number of newly registered imported commercial vehicles reached 1,218 units in the January-March period, up 11, or 0.9 percent, from a year ago, the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA) said in a statement.

By brand, Volvo Trucks topped the list with a total of 518 units sold last month, followed by Scania with 256, MAN with 234, Mercedes-Benz with 134 and Iveco 76.

In March alone, the number of newly registered imported commercial vehicles reached 469 units, up 11.4 percent from a year earlier.
